Event details
Teams, minimum of 6 and up to 32 (or the equivalent of a whole class if needed) in each group. Each team needs to include some SEND pupils. It can be a mixture of year groups or separate year groups.
Timing of dance – no longer than 4 minutes. Music of your choice.
This competition can be run within your school as part of a block of dance lessons or as a club beforehand to decide which is your best dance to put forward to this event. A video of this performance will need to be sent in for the deadline of 16/3/22. If there are large numbers of entries then the best of these performances will be judged by our panel of staff and students and selected for this date.
**Virtual entries can consist of whole class teams, but if selected for the event, a maximum of 20 can attend dues to space limitations on the stage.
Theme – ‘Cultural dances from around the Commonwealth’. This could be one cultural dance performed on its own or a selection of different parts of cultural dances included in one. You can choose.
This L2 event will be linked to a L3 Sport Birmingham event and winners will be provided with more opportunities to perform their dances as part of other Commonwealth events throughout the Summer Term.
Grading criteria will be sent to all schools upon entry.
