Last night saw a great year 5/6 hockey competition, hosted by Erdington Academy.  29 teams took part in a closely contested competition with pupils demonstrating some excellent skills.  PE apprentices and sports leaders did an excellent job umpiring, scoring and calculating results throughout the evening and were a credit to their school.  Four teams made the semi-finals; Abbey A, Erdington Hall B, Hodge Hill A and Beeches A.  There was only one goal in each semi-final, with Abbey A and Beeches A reaching the grand final.  Both teams played extremely well to battle through the 27 other teams that entered the competition, but in the end, it was Abbey A who were victorious and went home with the gold medals.  They now qualify for the level 3 Birmingham School games.  Many congratulations to all the players, staff and parents that came to support the event.
