The second year 5/6 basketball cluster competition took place at Stockland Green on Wednesday of last week.  8 teams entered and the standard, as usual, was extremely high, given that some pupils had never played the game before.  The games were refereed by young leaders for Birmingham Mets Basketball Club as well as representatives from the Midlands Basketball league.  All the pupils who attended gave 100% and the scores were all very close.  After the first pool games four teams progressed to the next round of competition; Marsh Hill 3, Beeches Juniors, Brookvale and Featherstone.  After the final group of games, Brookvale were in fourth place having been narrowly beaten by Faeatherstone in the 3rd vs. 4th play off game.  In the 1st vs. 2nd game, Marsh Hill 3 were victorious over a spirited Beeches Juniors team.  The top three teams will now join Timberley, St. Wildrid’s and St. Peter and St. Paul in the basketball final on 31st January at Stockland Green.   Congratulations to all those who took part.
