Yesterday saw the first Kingsbury School Sport Partnership Coach Academy day, where young people across the region came together to share their passion for coaching others. This is a scheme which is run by the Youth Sport Trust and delivered by the partnership, allowing young coaches to develop their leadership, communication and team work skills as well as developing sports specific knowledge and delivery skills. Students from Erdington Academy, Yardleys School, Eden Boys School and Greenwood took part, working together to create fun and exciting sports sessions that they can use in their coaching practices. Students will now return to their schools and work with their peers to promote physical activity and enjoyment in sport. Congratulations to all those students who took part and to their schools for releasing them for the day.
