The easiest way to run this competition is with a whole class during PE or an enrichment activity, however this can be completed at lunchtimes. The children will have to take on some leadership roles during the competition. They need to keep count at each station and will act as an official counting and recording the scores, ensuring their team does not cheat!
THE STATIONS:
The resource cards explain how to set up each station, but we also have a video resource which explains the 5 scored stations. To view the video, please CLICK HERE. All 5 stations count towards the event.
RULES:
Teams can compete in mixed year groups, e.g. year 5&6.
Teams should comprise of 8 children; this must include 4 boys and 4 girls. (If you are completing the competition with a whole class you are likely to have 3 or 4 teams participating). Each participants score will need to be inputted individually, Koboca will automatically put them in ranked order.
Each team should have a scoresheet and an allocated official for each station or each round.
Each individual gets two attempts at each station (except speed bounce). Their best attempt at each station (Speed Bounce, Long Jump, Shuttle Run, Triple Jump and Chest Push) will make up each individuals scores for their event.
Please encourage the children to demonstrate the School Games Values whilst competing, especially HONESTY & TEAMWORK
where possible, try and allocate other leadership roles to the pupils (Activity Organiser, Official, Motivator).
HOW TO ENTER:
Once the class / group of children have completing the competition, collect in their team sheets ensuring they have recorded their scores correctly and that they look realistic. To input the results on Koboca, please CLICK HERE.
KSSP do not need to see the class scoresheets however we would ask that you pass them onto your PE Lead as evidence.
DEADLINE: FRIDAY 11 DECEMBER
